Carson will mark the half-way point of our first Texas Songwriter Concert Series! It has been an amazing series thus far! We are extremely grateful to those of you that have joined us. Most importantly, we are even more proud to be able to share this experience with you!!!
Alyssa May will open the night, starting at 6:30pm. Then, Carson will hit the stage at 7:30. If you can’t make the show, don’t worry! We have five more shows after this one as part of our series. Please feel free to check out the rest of our Texas Songwriter Concert Series here. As far as this Thursday’s style of music goes, we’d definitely recommend grabbing a glass of red wine as their music warms our hearts, and the reds warm our minds. Come see what 2018 old country feels like!
Years before Rolling Stone was praising Carson McHone’s rule-breaking roots music, the Austin, Texas native played weeknights in local bars like The White Horse, keeping dancers dancing and drinkers drinking. With her 21st birthday still in the distance, McHone entertained late-night crowds bearing witness to the good times and bad decisions that fill a busy bar. It was a rare, raw education. She pumped her music full of details from an early adulthood spent in the company of the heartbroken and high-toleranced. In 2015, McHone released Goodluck Man which earned her a cover story in The Austin Chronicle as well as the support of local icons like Ray Wylie Hubbard, who said she “writes songs like her life depends on it.” Then she hit the road, touring the U.S. (and beyond) with acts like Shakey Graves, Gary Clark, Jr., and Joe Pug. Her writing style widened and her music evolved.
So, this may be the only old country style on our series lineup, but there is plenty more amazing genres to look forward to.
Oct. 11 – Otis (Taylor) Wilkins
Oct. 18 – Suzanna Choffel
Oct. 25 – Jeff Plankenhorn
Nov. 01 – Ray Prim
Nov. 08 – Miles Zuniga of Fastball

We hope to see you upstairs for this event! And… To make it even better, it’s also Steak Night! Steak will be served all not long until we run out.
Our upstairs, which we call The Skyroom, is a small and intimate space. It makes the perfect environment for musicians to play and relax with the audience. Jaimee will be singing her heart out for you—We can’t wait! Let us know on our Facebook event page whether you can make it.
Here’s a little bio snippet, if you want to learn more about Jaimee:
Jaimee Harris is poised to become the next queen of Americana-Folk, a slightly edgier Emmylou Harris for the younger generation.
Her new album draws comparisons to Patty Griffin, Ryan Adams, and Kathleen Edwards – all writers who know how to craft a heartbreakingly beautiful song with just enough grit to keep you enthralled. Harris writes about the basic human experience, in a way that is simple, poetic, and often painfully relatable.
“You keep comin over… I keep goin under…”
Harris isn’t afraid to get personal, but her vulnerability never veers into the self-indulgent. Each little confessional gem she puts out there is something the listener will connect to; these are things we’ve all felt, though many of us are less than likely to admit them.

]]>For those unfamiliar with the story of Celis craft beer, it’s quite an interesting one—Especially for fans of witbier. Pierre Celis hopped on a plane from Belgium to Texas hiding something rather valuable: The original yeast strain for his Wit beer. The same strand from 30 years prior to this 1992 journey. Celis Brewery was born and unbeknownst became an immediate success! Keep in mind, craft beer in the early 90’s was next to impossible to find compared to today’s shelves. This was Austin’s first craft brewery. Due to their popularity, eventually they sold to Miller Brewing Company. Later, in 2001 they closed the doors. As stated on Celis Beers website, after 25 years from originally opening their doors, they are back! Christine Celis has bought back the family name and the legendary beer recipe!
We are happy to host Celis Beer for our complimentary tasting! We will be featuring their famous Celis White, a witbier, their delicious Pale Bock and perfectly flavored Citrus Grandis, an East Coast IPA.
Each of their recipes seem to find the perfect blend of herbs and aromatics, the right combination of bold flavors and subdued spice. With each sip, the flavor builds on the pallet!
Come join us this evening! Chef Cesar will be cooking up some food pairings for the beer, including a lobster mac and cheese, pork sliders, salmon and bagels and crab cake stuffed mushrooms!

Are you ready!?
6:00-8:00
Complimentary tasting, with option to purchase pints and the Celis Food Platter.

We are very pleased to be hosting our first 2018 event. Join us for our January wine tasting with these special wines! We will be sampling some of Houston Rodeo’s 2018 top medal wine winners From the Rodeo Uncorked. There will be everything from sparkling whites to the boldest red blends.
Come join us to see what all the hype is!!
This is a complimentary tasting and lite-bites will be available!
Tuesday, January 31, 2018
6:30-8:30
Main gallery, downstairs.
We cannot wait to experience these wines with you! We believe one of the greatest things about trying new wines is the novelty of creating adventures—The history of the grapes, the wine makers, the region—And more importantly, the people you meet along the road and the conversations shared as that first drop of vino hits your lips; there is a story behind every wine from its inception that spans well into the traverse before ending its story in a glasses met by congregation.
You can RSVP to the event on Facebook if your hearts’ desire.
